Week 1

Day 7.3.2022

Today was the first day when Evert brought us to our work places! My work place is called dB Audiovisueel and the job is based around system integration. My job here is still kind of a mystery since today my job was to write down upgrades that could make their site better and up to date with the standards of 2022. My working partner named Nico has asked other members of the work place their opinions on the site, and now he wants that I make a list of the upgrades for the site. So I was introduced to WordPress and also DLogic that they used to make the site. I got admin permissions so basically, I could change anything I wanted but well, I didn't. I tested the features a little bit but didn't go that deep into it. I started the Word Document for the list that I would create and give as feed back. I looked up different kind of sites that were made with WordPress and took inspiration from them, and then compered them with their site. I could see quite clearly that the site wasn't up to date, so I wrote the clear differences between the 2022's up to standard site's and their site.

Once the lunch break started, we went to a shop that is more like business type of shop. Basically, you needed a specific code card to get in the shop and to get out. I got a picture of the card that I could use and then we went inside it. The shop was mainly only for companies to buy huge quantities of food and other things. It was HUGE. After that shop visit I continued on the list.

Once the day was over, we went to shop and then I made food for me, Essi and Patrick. One funny thing we discovered was how cheap some of the things are and how much you get. Also alcohol is a big thing in these streets, it's cheap and everyone drinks it. Once we arrived to our apartment I made food and it was kind of a hassle, but it turned out okay, I just made a little bit more than needed and some of it had to be thrown out.

Day 8.3.2022 Today I woke up pretty well and started making my breakfast for the workplace. I was picked up at 8:30 and then continued on making the list about the things that could make their site better. Somewhere at 11:00 am, I got it all done and showed it to Nico. Nico then went to talk to my boss, who then later came to me and told me that they might have something interesting for me. They told me that I could make a button that connected you into a Teams call by just inserting the calls code or by getting an invite, and the whole button was only for those purposes only. I was ready to try it out, until I was told that it's made with Javascript and I have only used C#.

Well, I still took the challenge and said that I might be able to do it. I just couldn't start today, because one of the colleague who was suppose to provide me with equipment for the job wasn't in the work place. So I had to wait till tomorrow, and so I got the rest of the day off. Once the day was over, I was brought back and then I went straight to buy groceries. Today I made some salad with a lot of things and it was really good! After I made the food, me and my girlfriend were just hanging out before we went to sleep, cause the day was very exhausting and it took me forever to get the groceries.

Day 9.3.2022

Today I woke up normally and made my breakfast for the workplace. I'm a very bad eater at morning so I didn't eat anything :D. I was picked up today at 8:30 and then I started my day.

Today was a quite uneventful day until somewhere at 12:30, when I got my equipment for the job. I was told a little bit what to do and later in the day I got some more clear instructions. I started by looking at tutorials and testing out the examples that it provided. Quite simply, I learned a little bit about the micro, but tomorrow I have most likely more things to tell about it :D.

Once the day was over, me, Essi and Patrick went all get our bikes with Evert and after that we went to buy some more groceries, and bought some ingredients for pasta sauce, which I then made. So today we had some pasta with some sauce but no meat, which I realized a little later during the making of the food, so we vegan this day :D. The food was great and I'm looking forward for tomorrows food making and what the day has to offer! I forgot to take before picture, but here is the after :)

Day 10.3.2022

Today I woke up normally and made my breakfast for the workplace yet again. Today however, I went with a bike that we got yesterday and the path was difficult. I had to use maps for the first time and well, I got to the place but it was a hassle :D. Today I had quite a lot of learning to do, since today I started to learn how to code with Javascript. We use Javascript to run xAPI commands. Basically my first job was to make a button that after I pressed called to a specific number that we wanted. I started learning Javascript today and used a ready template to start building the button. Today was a great day and tomorrow I will continue on making it. After the day, we went to buy some groceries at somewhere at 17:45. After buying some ingredients for todays food, we headed back to our place. Today was suppose to be an easy day of putting some fries and nuggets into our oven, but we found out that we don't even have a tin plate to put our food on, then I had to deep fry the fries and fry the chicken nuggets. I had to go to grocery store again to get more canola oil, since all went to deep frying. Well the food turned out all right and we were happy with it. After that, we played a little bit of Dead by Daylight and then went to sleep after about 1 hour of gaming.

Day 11.3.2022 Today like always, woke up normally to make myself some breakfast for work and took a morning shower and then headed out to my workplace. Today was a nice weather but quite windy, but I can't complain. Today I continued on making the button and tried to figure out how to add some new things. It didn't have certain options that I wanted the site to have (I'm using a Cisco Macro development thing) and I was trying to find out how to add a text box where you can write text but there wasn't such option. Then I asked help from a co-worker and he helped me out and checked how far am I. Turns out, we needed to just put the address where it called and it was done. So I got my job done and now it only needs documentation that I will start today and hopefully finish on the next Monday.

After the workday, we went to buy some groceries and this time we had some special food, I think I will do that every Friday. Today I made some tortilla and then we also bought half a cake that was pretty good. After we ate tortilla, we just hanged out and then I went to play with my girlfriend. That was day over and tomorrow is the first day of the weekend.

Day 12.3.2022

Today was our first weekend day and I already enjoyed the morning :D. I started the morning out with a good breakfast and then short time after, we went to the shopping. We went to buy some groceries for todays food and some cooking utensils. After the morning breakfast and the shopping we chilled for a little bit till the clock hit around half past 3.

Once the clock was around 15:30 me, Essi and Patrick went to Forum to visit a Gaming museum. Normally you would need to buy tickets for it, but my employer has a partnership with Forum, so he provided us with 3 free tickets which was so awesome of him. And so we went to the gaming museum which was exhilarating. We entered the museum after going couple stairs up to floor 4 and we found "2 stages", basically the museum was divided to 2 big halls with many different arcade machines from really old games and I mean REALLY to newer games. The whole place was awesome and a great once in a life time experience.

After the museum, we went back to our apartment so that I could make us some food and to chill for the rest of the evening. I made some smashed potatoes with ground meat sauce (forgot to take picture). It was quite good, but a little too runny for my taste and cleaning the pan was a pain. Overall the day was exciting and fun!

Day 13.3.2022

Today I woke up well like the big baby that I am. I started the day out with a bowl of Müsli and some bread. We chilled at our place for a bit watching some TV and talkin. Somewhere at 11.00 am - 12.00 pm, we went to shopping to get a baking plate (I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PELTI IS CALLED) and also to buy some groceries. We had to get more Vichy, some hand soap (yes we didn't have this for a week), some bandages (to protect my burn) and some lozenge for Essi. After some time passed me and Essi wanted to go out on a date. We tried to go to a tiny snack bar thingy but we figured out that none of the staff spoke English so we went away. We were kind of disappointed that we weren't able to negotiate with them, but we found something better. We found a pirate ship themed pancake restaurant on a river. We ordered some tiny pancakes for the starter and they were pretty good, and then we got ourselves the main dish pancakes. We were thinkin why they were quite expensive, but after I saw them it wasn't a surprise, since they were HUGE and also tasty. Our main pancake's had apple & cinnamon with sugar powder on it. It was delicious and for our drinks we had Hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. After we ate at the place we had trouble paying cause our cards didn't work but luckily we had cash on us so we got it sorted out.

After the date, we went back to our apartment and hanged out there for the rest of the evening. We were tired of all of the walking and eating and so we decided to not go anywhere anymore. That concludes the first week, and it was one hell of a week.
